Box Score OAKLAND, CA (March 26, 2014) – The Hawai'i Pacific Baseball Team (16-11, 10-9) posted double-figure runs for the second time in the three game series against Academy of Art (8-19, 4-11) on Tuesday in a 10-5 win. The game was much closer then the final would indicate as HPU won the game in the 10th inning.

The Sea Warriors trailed 5-4 going into the ninth inning, but tied the game by doing the little things right. Tyler Tokunaga worked a leadoff walk and was moved over to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Derek Nakasato. Two more walks would move Tokunaga to third with just one out, and he scored on a sacrifice fly by Chad Bolibol.

Dustin Hamiliton induced a ground ball double play to get out of the home half of the ninth and let the offense get back to work.

With two outs in the 10th, Ryan Torres-Torioka reached on an error and then scored after back-to-back singles from Tokunaga and Nakasato. Tokunaga then scored to make it 7-5 on a single by Codey Ellenwood. Kevin Lenik then completely removed any doubt with a three-run homer to left field, his league-leading sixth home run of the season.

HPU has been great all year at coming back and winning games late, the Sea Warriors moved to 8-2 on the season in extra inning games.

The Sea Warriors had their first lead in the fourth inning when they scored three times, highlighted by an Ellenwood double and Lenik triple.

Joshua "Rico" Garcia threw seven innings and gave up three earned runs, but did not receive a decision. Pulama Silva lowered his ERA to 0.84 after two-thirds of an inning of perfect relief. Hamiliton earned the win after two and a third scoreless innings.

The second game (seven innings) of the scheduled doubleheader was postponed due to rain in the top of the first inning and will be resumed tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
