KAHUKU, HI (March 27, 2014) – The Hawai'i Pacific Men's Golf Team shot a 299 to place third in the six team field for round one of the Aloha at Oahu Tournament held on the Fazio Course at Turtle Bay.
The Sea Warriors sit in third place after the first round behind Hawaii (282) and BYU-Hawaii (297), and ahead of Chaminade (312), Pacific University (330), and Whitman College (345).
Freshmen
Kevin Goldstein and
Alec Fourie gave a glimpse into a bright future as they led the team. Goldstein registered a one-over 73 with Fourie right behind him with a 74. Senior
James Fawssett also played well, carding a 75.
Ian Boat just edged
Andy Rodby, 77-78, for the last countable score in the Sea Warrior attack.
UH's Nainoa Calip leads the field with a 70.
The tournament will conclude tomorrow at noon, shifting to the Palmer Course at Turtle Bay.
