Box Score TURLOCK, CA (April 4, 2014)—The Hawai`i Pacific Softball Team (14-16) dropped game one  of the Tournament of Champions against Cal State Monterey Bay (29-5) by the score of 3-0. The game was the first of three on the day for the Sea Warriors.

The game was a pitcher's duel between Sea Warrior starter Kristen Caskey and Otter starter Cori Reinhardt.
Monterey Bay scored an unearned run in the fourth to take a lead and managed two more in the sixth to make it 3-0.
The Sea Warriors moved a runner into scoring position in the fifth with one out, but Reinhardt was able to get out of the jam without surrendering a run.

Caskey spread six hits while giving up two earned runs in six innings in the loss.
HPU will now face Northwest Nazarene at 4:15 p.m. PST.
