MEQUON, WI (March 12, 2015) – In a sport where meets are often decided by a fraction of a point, the Hawai'i Pacific Acrobatics and Tumbling Team (3-1) thumped Concordia (Wis.) by nearly 38. The 277.915-239.65 win is the biggest margin of victory in the young history of the program.
The meet was the first ever hosted by Concordia (0-6) with a healthy crowd of 1,186 on hand. The onlookers saw HPU win not only every event, but every heat as well.
The Sharks established dominance early with a 38.95-30.60 pasting of the Falcons in the Compulsory Event. HPU's chances were bolstered with a perfect 10 in the Pyramid Heat from the team of
Shawna Uehara,
Dani Guerin,
Sabrina Cadwallader,
Elisha Quintana,
Erin Robins,
Lindsey Pettigrew,
Melanie Hew,
Sara Gruden,
Bianca Bialk,
Lexi Vincent,
Andrea Miceli,
Joely Smith,
Amara Poquette,

It was more of the same in the Acro Event with HPU earning a 29.45-26.77 win.
For the second consecutive meet, the Twist Heat (heat two) of the Pyramid Event was executed to literal perfection. The team of Poquette,
Nicole Saiki, Vincent, Smith, and Hew scored a perfect 10 in Heat Two. HPU took the event 29.65-27.65.
The Toss Event was also all Sharks, prevailing 29.20-27.25.
HPU owned the Tumbling Event as well, winning a 53.125-44.775 landslide.
Although with a comfortable lead, the Sharks continued to pour it on in the Team Event. HPU blasted the competition 98.74-86.12.
HPU ends its mainland road trip at 3-0, including a win over Division I Quinnipiac.
"I couldn't be more proud of my team, it is never easy to win on the road and we did just that. We'll enjoy this one tonight, but we are eager to get back to Honolulu and continue perfecting our skills. We have two big home meets coming up and our team is excited to perform in front of our fans," said Head Coach
Keenyn Won.
HPU will host Fairmont State on Thursday (March 19th) at 6:30 pm at Moanalua High School.
