Box Score 2 HILO, HI (April 18, 2015) – The Hawai'i Pacific Baseball Team (21-20) took the field against inter island rival UH Hilo (8-33) today and split the doubleheader. HPU fell 4-3 in the opener but earned a 2-1 win in game two.

Game one saw the Sharks take the early lead in the second inning when
Ryan Torres-Torioka singled into right field, scoring
Chad Bolibol.
In the third inning, UHH took the lead, scoring three runs.
Bronson Aiwohi got one back for the Sharks in the fifth inning on a single to right field to score senior
James Carraway. In the bottom half of the inning, the Vulcans extended their lead back to two.
In the sixth, Aiwohi was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded for his second RBI of the game, bringing the Sharks within one run.
Both pitching staffs held strong throughout the remainder of the game and HPU lost 4-3.
Starter
Brandon Van Stone (4-5) was tagged with the loss. He went seven innings, allowing nine hits and four runs (three earned), while punching out two.
In game two,
Nolan Barraza started off the scoring for HPU with a sacrifice fly in the first.
Later in the sixth inning, the Vulcans tied the game on an RBI single up the middle.
The Sharks retaliated in the seventh with a
Steven Camberos single to right field, driving in the go ahead run.
The Sharks held onto the one-run lead and earned the split in the doubleheader.
Starter
Ethan Kalin (5-5) earned the win, throwing six innings and allowing just one run on two hits.
Cody Ells came on for the 1-2-3 save.
The Sharks play Vulcans tomorrow in the final doubleheader of the season series.
