Box Score 2 ALAMEDA, Calif. (March 29, 2016) – The Hawaii Pacific baseball team split a doubleheader with Academy of Art University, winning the opener 14-1 and falling in the return matchup 5-0 (seven innings), to conclude a four-game PacWest Conference series at College of Alameda. 
The Sharks (19-11, 11-9 PacWest) ran away with the opener after racking up 20 hits. 
Reid Akau went 4-for-4 with three runs scored, while 
Nolan Barraza collected three doubles and five RBI. 
Tanner Tokunaga also turned in a productive performance, going 3-for-6 with an RBI and a triple, while third baseman 
Jordan Mopas posted three base knocks including a double. Freshman 
Keola Himan homered and drove in two runs for hot-hitting HPU. 
Brandon Van Stone (4-1) picked up the win after throwing seven scoreless innings through which he scattered five hits and struck out two. 
The Urban Knights (9-20, 4-11) claimed the finale behind a shutout performance from Daniel Farfan (1-1), who held the Sharks scoreless over seven innings and struck out six while allowing three singles and four walks. 
Matthew Gunter (2-2) was saddled with the loss after HPU's starter lasted 3 1/3 innings and surrendered four runs (two earned). 
The Sharks are aiming to improve on their 27-20 record from last year, which included a 17-15 mark in conference play. HPU was picked to finish seventh this season in a very competitive 10-team PacWest Conference via a preseason vote by league coaches. The team is guided by 11
th-year skipper 
Garett Yukumoto, who is the program's winningest coach at 308-207-1.   
HPU continues its eight-game Northern California road swing with two doubleheaders against Holy Names University on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2 (games at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. both days).
