Box Score 2 ST. GEORGE, Utah (April 22, 2016) – The Hawaii Pacific baseball team dropped both ends of a road doubleheader with No. 20 Dixie State University, falling 4-3 in the opener and losing the return matchup 11-4, to begin a four-game PacWest Conference series at Bruce Hurst Field.
 
The Sharks (27-17, 17-15 PacWest) received a solid effort at the dish in the opener from catcher 
Steven Camberos, who went 4-for-4 with two RBI. 
Bronson Aiwohi posted three hits including a solo homer, while teammates 
Tyler Tokunaga and 
Tre' Haliburton-Goeas notched two hits apiece. Outfielder 
Tanner Tokunaga led the Sharks in Game 2 with three hits and two stolen bases, while Haliburton-Goeas added two more hits to his daily haul.
 
HPU starter 
Jordan Knoll (2-1) took the loss in the opener after giving up four runs, two of which were earned, on five hits through five innings. In the night cap, hurler 
Ethan Kalin (3-3) was saddled with the loss after allowing four runs on three hits and three walks in less than two innings.
 
The Trailblazers (34-10, 22-8) received a monster second game from Drew McLaughlin as the second baseman doubled twice, homered and drove in four runs. Dixie State pitchers Mason Hilty (9-0) and Dylan File (5-1) notched wins on the evening.
 
The Sharks are aiming to improve on their 27-20 record from last year, which included a 17-15 mark in conference play. HPU was picked to finish seventh this season in a very competitive 10-team PacWest Conference via a preseason vote by league coaches. The team is guided by 11
th-year skipper 
Garett Yukumoto, who is the program's winningest coach at 316-213-1.  
 
HPU will remain on the road to finish the season with another doubleheader at Dixie State and two double dips at UH Hilo.
