IRVINE, Calif. – Hawai'i Pacific University junior
Gerrit Arzberger has been chosen to the 2019 All-PacWest Conference Men's Soccer Team released today by the conference office.
Arzberger, a 6-0 midfielder from Munich, Germany/Therese von Bayern, is one of the four midfielders chosen First Team All-PacWest Conference. He is the only Hawai'i Pacific player chosen to the All-PacWest Conference team.
Arzberger led the Sharks to a 6-8-2 overall record, 4-6-1 in the PacWest good for a seventh place finish. He led HPU and was sixth in the PacWest with nine goals, led the team and was second with seven assists, and totaled 25 points to rank sixth in the PacWest. He was third in the PacWest with 57 shots and fourth with 29 shots on goal.
It's the first time that Arzberger has been chosen to the All-PacWest Team.
In conjuction with the All-PacWest Team, the conference has also issued its 2019 special awards. PacWest Champion Azusa Pacific, the top ranked team in the country, dominated the awards with Isaac Bawa named Player of the Year, Orlando Lozano the Defender of the Year, Brendan Fix the Goalkeeper of the Year, Daniel Osei-tutu the Freshman of the Year and Dave Blomquist the Coach of the Year. Point Loma's David Achaerandio was selected the Newcomer of the Year.
