IRVINE, Calif. –Hawai'i Pacific University's
Ella Dotson was chosen as the PacWest Conference Volleyball Player of the Week by the conference office for her outstanding performance last week.
Dotson, a sophomore outside hitter from Tucson, Ariz./Marana, posted consecutive double-doubles in leading the Sharks to a pair of PacWest Conference straight-set sweeps against Holy Names and Dominican last weekend.
Dotson posted a career-high 19 kills with 13 digs while hitting a career-best .375 in leading HPU to a 25-23, 25-23, 25-19 victory over Holy Names last Thursday. Then on Saturday, She recorded 15 kills with a career-high 19 digs in leading HPU to a 27-25, 25-22. 27-25 victory against Dominican. Her 19 kills against Holy Names equals the most in a 3-set match by a PacWest player this season.
Dotson leads the Sharks this season with 156 kills (a 3.06 kills per set average) and a .195 attack percentage.
Joining Dotson with PacWest weekly honors is Fresno Pacific middle Makena Ogas as Defender of the Week.
