IRVINE, Calif. –Hawai'i Pacific University's
Paul Enzigmueller was named the PacWest Hawai'i Pod Men's Soccer Player of the Week for his heroic action on Sunday.
Enzigmueller, a 6-0 senior from Zimdorf, Germany/Dietrich-Bonhoeffer Gymnasium,
Stafford, a 5-10 junior from Federal Way, Wash./Beamer via the closed down Concordia Portland, scored the game-winning goal in HPU's second-consecutive 1-0 victory. The senior lined up to take a penalty kick in the 81st minute to break a scoreless tie, but his attempt was blocked. Enzigmueller was the first to get to the deflection and quickly took a shot, scoring the only goal of the game to make the Sharks 2-0 on the season.
Enzigmueller is joined this week by the PacWest Southern California Player of the Week Corey Lundeen of Point Loma and by the PacWest Northern California Player of the Week Adrian Cekala of Academy of Art.
The Sharks (2-0, 2-0) return to action on Sunday, March 7, when they visit cross-town rival Chaminade. Kickoff at St. Louis Field is set for noon.
