INDIANAPOLIS – Hawai'i Pacific University is the 10th seed from the West Region as the NCAA announced the field for the 2022 NCAA Division II West/South Central Men's Golf Super Regional on Friday.
The West/South Central Super Regional will be played May 5-7 at the Pueblo Country Club in Pueblo, Colo.
The Western Washington, the winner of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, is the top seed of the West, with Simon Fraser the second seed. California Collegiate Athletic Association champ Sonoma State is third, followed by Chico State, Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal State San Bernadino, Cal State San Marcos, Stanislaus State, Cal State East Bay and HPU, the winner of the PacWest.
The West individuals are Cal State Dominguez Hills Seung Ho Yoon, Saint Martin's Tyler Fitchett, Holy Names' Luke Dugger, and Dominican's Christian Schrodt.
The South Central Region is represented by top seed Oklahoma Christian, ahead of Lone Star Conference champion Midwestern State and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champ Colorado State Pueblo. Then comes Cameron, Texas A&M-Commerce, St. Mary's (Texas), Colorado Christian, Colorado-Colorado Springs, Colorado Mesa and West Texas A&M.
The South Central Individuals are Fort Lewis' Darren Edwards, Texas A&M International's Mauricio Figueroa, Western New Mexico's Joey Geary, and Westminster's Masen Ward.
This is the first time the Sharks have qualified as a team for the NCAA Regional in golf.
