HONOLULU - The Hawaii Pacific Men's Basketball team is happy to announce the signing of Dominique "Diggy" Winbush for the upcoming season. Diggy spent the previous 2 seasons at Chabot College in California and will have 2 years of eligibility remaining for the Sharks.
Winbush played a major role at Chabot, most recently being named the Co-MVP of the Coast North division of the CCCAA. He was also selected to the All-State team. He averaged 13.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. He has shot 47% from the field and 37% from 3PT land in his career so far. He has also been extremely active on the defensive end, averaging 2.5 steals per game.
"I chose HPU because of the relationship I have with the coaching staff and the camaraderie with my teammates. I felt wanted and I thank them for welcoming me with open arms and embracing me," said Winbush. "Plus, this will be my first time ever in Hawaii! This unique experience was just an added perk as well!"
Coach
Jesse Nakanishi added, "We're ecstatic to have Diggy join our 'ohana. He's a team first guard that will elevate everyone's level of play around him. Likewise, Diggy's winning pedigree will be infectious in our quest for a league championship."
