CARMEL, CA – Hawai'i Pacific women's golf turned in one of their strongest performances of the young season, finishing at the top of the leaderboard at the RCA Electric Invitational at Quail Lodge Resort & Golf Club. The Sharks closed the three-round event with a team score of 895 (+43), outpacing Dominican (925), Cal Lutheran (946), Menlo (960), and Jessup (974) on the par-71 layout.
The Sharks were led by Kameron "Kami" Kwong, who also placed first in the individual standings with a three-round total of 222 (+9). Kwong's consistency shined through the week, highlighted by a 1-under 69 in the opening round. She followed that with rounds of 80 and 73 to secure her place inside the top two.
Right behind her was Isabella Iorio, who tied for second at 223 (+10). Iorio opened with a steady 72 (+1) and added rounds of 77 and 74 to give HPU two players inside the top three.
Shuiyun He and Giuliana Rovetti kept the Sharks' depth intact with top-10 finishes. He placed fifth overall at 225 (+12), capped by a final-round 73, while Rovetti tied for sixth at 227 (+14) with back-to-back 76s and a closing 75. Paige Sur rounded out the scoring with a tie for 20th at 249 (+36), highlighted by a bounce-back second-round 78.
The balanced effort gave HPU the most complete team showing of the field, with all five golfers contributing across the three days of play.
Dominican's Cristen Faith Legaspi posted the low round of the tournament with an even-par 71 in her opener and finished fourth at 224 (+11), while Menlo's Kim Penzold tied Iorio for second with a total of 223 (+10).
The win at Quail Lodge gives the Sharks momentum heading into the heart of their fall schedule, with multiple players proving they can contend for individual titles while the team demonstrated the depth needed to stay competitive against regional opponents.
