Personal: Huerta was born in Kent, Washington…her nickname is Lil Ky…her hobbies include drinking slurpees and going to the beach…her favorite foods are anything her grandma cooks…her favorite movies are Little Giants and Little Rascals…favorite musical artists are John Legend, J Boog, and Alicia Keys…her favorite athletes are Chris Paul and Derrick Rose…she is majoring in Elementary Education…in 10 years she wants to be married and have a family…she chose to come HPU to play with her best friend Morganne Comstock and because she loves Hawai’i

Prior to HPU: Huerta is a four-year letter winner out of Kentwood High School, which is a girls' basketball powerhouse. She was a prolific scorer, averaging over 18 points per game both her junior and senior years. She was selected to the 4A All-State Honorable Mention squad in 2011. As a senior she was ranked among the top 110 point guards in the nation according to ESPN Hoopgurlz.com. A winner, she helped Kentwood capture the school's first-ever Class 4A State Championship in 2009, and led the team to the quarterfinals in 2010. Huerta played three seasons at Eastern Washington seeing action in 90 games with 28 starts. During the 2012-13 season she averaged 29.2 minutes a game while scoring 7.3 points and getting 2.7 rebounds. She put up 15 points, including three triples, against Washington in the opening round of the WNIT in March of 2013.
