Born in Kobe, Japan, Kan Taguchi joins the Sharks as an outfielder with experience competing at both the high school and collegiate level. Before arriving at Hawai‘i Pacific, he played at Grand Canyon University under head coach Gregg Wallis, and earlier attended Canadian Academy where he played baseball and volleyball. Kan credits his baseball journey to his development as an outfielder and the influence of those around him throughout his playing experience.

He chose HPU for the warmth and genuine welcome he felt from the coaching staff — a place where he believes he can grow on and off the field. His favorite foods include ramen, and he enjoys both gaming and playing other sports during his free time. His favorite athletes include Albert Pujols and Yuki Kawamura, and he hopes his future continues along the path of baseball.
