Biography

Seiji Umezawa is an infielder from Kanagawa, Japan. He joins Hawai?i Pacific after playing baseball at Sussex County Community College in Newton, New Jersey, where he played shortstop under head coach Ramadan Mehmedi. Umezawa earned NJCAA Division II Region 19 First Team All-Region honors.

Umezawa graduated from Komazawa High School in Tokyo, Japan, where he played baseball for three years under head coach Norio Kawabata and competed at third base.

Umezawa enjoys trying different foods and working out. His favorite foods include ramen and Playa Bowls, and his favorite athlete is Yu Darvish. In 10 years, Umezawa hopes to live in Hawai?i. He chose HPU because of Hawai?i's proximity to Japan.
