Kaile Cruz joins the Sharks as a graduate transfer from the University of Hawai?i at Hilo. The 5-foot-2 guard from Milpitas, California is pursuing a Master of Public Health at Hawai?i Pacific.

Cruz spent her collegiate career at Hawai?i Hilo under head coach Dave Kaneshiro, where she earned numerous academic honors, including CSC Academic All-District recognition in 2023-24 and 2025-26, multiple Academic All-PacWest Team selections, D2 Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Awards, and Hawai?i Hilo Student-Athlete Academic Honors. Prior to college, she attended Pinewood School in Los Altos Hills, California, where she competed in basketball and track and field. She earned West Bay Athletic League Honorable Mention recognition during her high school basketball career.

Cruz chose HPU for its welcoming community and the opportunity to continue playing basketball while earning her Master of Public Health degree. Away from the court, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, and playing spikeball at the beach. Looking ahead, she hopes to become a physician assistant.
