Eric Ahlers is a guard/forward from St. Petersburg, Florida. He joins Hawai?i Pacific after a standout career at Husson University, where he earned Team MVP honors, NAC First Team All-Conference recognition, MMBCWA Second Team All-State honors, and served as team captain. Ahlers was also named to the Cregger Invitational All-Tournament Team, the NAC All-Tournament Team, and the NABC Honors Court while helping Husson win two North Atlantic Conference championships and make two NCAA Tournament appearances.
Ahlers graduated from Admiral Farragut Academy, where he played forward under head coach Julian Allen. During his prep career, he earned PCAC South Second Team All-Conference honors in 2020-21, PPSC Second Team All-Conference recognition in 2021-22, and helped lead his team to a district championship.
Outside of basketball, Ahlers enjoys playing guitar, lifting, hiking, traveling, golf, tennis, music, and learning new things. His favorite foods are steak and Mexican food, while his favorite movies include Spider-Man, Hacksaw Ridge, Top Gun, and 8 Mile. He enjoys listening to Sam Barber. In 10 years, Ahlers hopes to be successful in his career while having the opportunity to travel and experience the world. He chose HPU because of its culture, the people, and the opportunity to continue playing basketball at a high level while living in Hawai?i.
