Franciz Wai joins the Sharks from Western Oklahoma State College. The 6-foot-6 wing from Adelaide, South Australia is pursuing a degree in Psychology at Hawai?i Pacific.

Before beginning his collegiate career in the United States, Wai attended St. Paul's College in Gilles Plains, South Australia, where he earned Best and Fairest honors during his senior season. He continued his basketball career at Western Oklahoma State College under head coach Rolando De La Barrera, helping lead the team to a Region 2 Tournament runner-up finish.

Wai chose HPU because of the welcoming coaching staff, the opportunity to live in Hawai?i, and a program committed to helping its student-athletes grow both on and off the court. Away from basketball, he enjoys playing video games, spending time with family and friends, and taking walks on the beach. Looking ahead, he hopes to build a professional basketball career while starting a family.
