Ali?ilani Halaufia-Tuygun is a shooting guard from Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Edward S. Marcus High School in Flower Mound, where she competed under head coach Mallory Singleton. During her prep career, Halaufia-Tuygun served as a team captain and earned Second Team All-District, Academic All-District, and Best Three-Point Percentage honors. She also played small forward and point guard during her high school career.
Halaufia-Tuygun enjoys watching movies, staying active through sports, and spending time with her three dogs, Kekoa, Kapono, and Mushu. Her favorite foods include lupulu, kalua pig, and musubi. She enjoys Marvel movies, Love & Basketball, Moana, and Mulan, and listens to Beyoncé, Drake, and Lil Wayne. Her favorite athletes are LeBron James and Paige Bueckers. In 10 years, Halaufia-Tuygun hopes to be working as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) while enjoying a peaceful life with her family. She chose HPU because, as someone of Tongan and Samoan heritage, she wanted to attend a university where she could stay connected to her culture every day.
