Belmont, CA (1/9/10) – On the campus of Notre Dame de Namur, the HPU women's basketball team defeated the Lady Argonauts, 79-57. The Sea Warriors improve to 7-4 overall and 3-0 in the PacWest, while NDNU drops to 5-8 overall and 1-1 in conference.
Paris Gravely shot a career-high 25 points for HPU on 7-10 shooting.
Jazzmin Awa-Williams posted 17 points and
Courtney Buster added 11 points and five rebounds. Laura Zasly led the Argos with 21 points. The Sea Warriors trailed much of the first half, but a string of made free throws and a Gravely three-pointer gave them a 24-21 lead with 4:39 to play in the first half. Just under five minutes into the second half, a pair of Awa-Williams free throws gave HPU a 41-30 advantage. The lead never fell below double digits for the rest of the game.
