Kaneohe, HI (10/24/09) – At Atherton Field, the HPU women's soccer team defeated Grand Canyon, 1-0, in double overtime. Dyanne Anderson scored the game winner in the 105th minute as HPU improved to 8-6-1 overall and 6-4 in the PacWest. GCU fell to 6-7-2 overall and 3-4-2 in conference.

 Anderson stole an errant back pass by the GCU defense and created a breakaway with Antelope keeper Mileena Buchei. She touched the ball past Buchei and ran on to tap in the game winner. HPU keeper Carianne Makino posted six saves in the shutout, with Buchei recording eight saves for GCU.

Both teams return to action this Monday, October 26, against Notre Dame de Namur. The Lady Sea Warriors kick off at 1:30 p.m. with the men's match immediately following. Both matches will be played at Atherton Field.
