Kaneohe, HI (5/15/10) – At the NCAA Division II Softball West Regional, HPU defeated Cal State Monterey Bay, 3-2. With the win, the Lady Sea Warriors advance to the championship to be played tomorrow, May 16, at 11:00 a.m. HPU (42-6) took a 3-0 lead after two innings and held on for the victory.

Sherise Musquiz (27-1) earned the win for HPU, allowing two runs on seven hits in seven innings. Diane Ortiz was tagged with the loss for CSUMB (33-19). She allowed one earned run on seven hits in seven innings of work.

Nicole Morrow led HPU with two hits and one run scored, and Chante Tesoro added one hit and one run. Shae Olds (1-3, 1 R, 1 RBI) led CSUMB at the plate.

HPU now plays the winner of Cal State Monterey Bay and UH-Hilo which is being played today at 1:30 p.m. HPU is one win away from advancing to NCAA West Super Regional.
