Lady Sea Warriors Sink Argonauts, Unbeaten In Conference

Belmont, CA (January 25, 2011) – Following an overtime road scare, the Hawaii Pacific women's basketball team left little doubt in a 71-54 win over Notre Dame de Namur in the first of a three-game California road trip. Senior Jazzmin Awa-Williams shot 7-11 on her way to a game-high 18 points. HPU continues to surge, now winners of 11 straight games.

A strong second half propelled the green and blue to a 17 point win, HPU scorched the nets shooting 52%. With 14:05 to play an old fashioned three-point play by Freshman Skye Savini made the score 47-30, giving HPU breathing room. The win keeps HPU in first place in the PacWest with a record of 6-0, and an overall mark of 12-3.

Senior Courtney Buster recorded her third double-double of the season, and her second against NDNU, with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Savini was a spark off the beach, totaling 12 points in just 16 minutes of action. Junior Taiyande Huskey scored 10 points while dishing off four assists.

Jennica Janssen led NDNU with 16 points. NDNU falls to 6-10, 3-4.

The Sea Warriors next travel to San Francisco on Thursday to play Academy of Art at 5:30 PST. The game will have Live Stats (http://www.sidearmstats.com/academyart/wbball/xlive.htm) as well as Live Audio (http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/artu.portal).

Notes: Buster has grabbed double figure rebounds in five of the last six games……At the half HPU led by eight, the exact margin by which they defeated NDNU in the first meeting on January 10th in Honolulu……Awa Willams and Junior Taylor Craig also had four assists……HPU won the rebound battle 39-31.
