HPU Edged By Cal St. Northridge

Honolulu, HI (February 23, 2011) – The Hawai'i Pacific women's tennis team was narrowly defeated 4-3 by division one's Cal St. Northridge. The match was tied 3-3, with Florie Paquay's match being the last on the court, in the 3rd set. Paquay was down 5-1, fought off three match points, but ended up losing the set.

Per division one rules, only one point is awarded to the team who wins two of the three doubles matches. Cal St. Northridge got the doubles point, but Zora Vlckova and Celina Goetti got the win at second doubles to remain undefeated.

Vlckova and Aleksandra Stankovic both won in singles and remained perfect on the season. HPU falls to 6-1.

The Sea Warriors now travel to UH-Hilo on Saturday for a 1 P.M. match.
