San Diego, CA (March 11, 2011) – In the opening match of a six day, six match road trip the Sea Warriors lost 6-3 to UC-San Diego in a battle of regional powers. Hawai'i Pacific falls to 7-3 on the season.
The top portion of singles went well for HPU, as Petr Michnev and Sebastian Bader were victorious at first and second singles. Michnev remains undefeated at 10-0 after a 6-3, 6-2 dispatching of Erik Elliott. Bader moves to 8-2 after besting Chapman Chan 0-6, 6-1, 6-2.
The lone bright spot in doubles was the 8-3 win at third doubles from Michnev and JC Pauli. Bader and Ji Hoon Heo forced the issue at second doubles, but fell 9-8.
HPU plays Barry University in San Diego tomorrow at 9 AM PST.
