Las Vegas, NV (March 15, 2011) – In a match-up of top 25 teams, Hawai'i Pacific lost to Armstrong Atlantic 9-0. HPU did not play to its potential, and the third ranked Pirates took advantage. The Sea Warriors drop to 7-6 on the season.
In singles play, Petr Michnev lost a close match to second ranked Eudaldo Bonet 7-5, 4-6, and 10-8. In the first set was a roller coaster as Michnev went down 4-0, then rallied to take a 5-4 lead, but fell 7-5. Ari Davis played a tight match at sixth singles, but could not prevail, losing 6-4, 6-3.
Doubles did not go well for HPU as all three matches were lost by an identical score of 8-3
HPU will regroup and face Concordia tomorrow at 9:00 AM PST.
