Box Score Honolulu, HI (January 30, 2012) – Hawai'i Pacific fell 66-56 to California Baptist (14-3, 7-2) Monday night at the Neal Blaisdell Center. HPU falls to 11-8 overall and 5-4 in the PacWest.

HPU started off sluggishly trailing 10-2 five minutes into the game. By the 6:34 mark, HPU had come all the way back and led 22-21 on a Melody Ladrido jumper. The lead was short lived; CBU took a 10 point lead into the half, 37-27. The deficit grew to 18 early in the second half at 45-27. HPU continued to battle and cut the lead to six on a layup by Susannah Walmsley with 5:09 to play. HPU would draw no closer.

Walmsley led HPU with 12 points, she also had four rebounds and four assists. Kathryn Tolbert played well in the post, scoring eight points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Taiyande Huskey played another good all-around game with eight points, nine rebounds and five assists. Mana Hopkins and Ladrido each scored nine points and grabbed four rebounds.

HPU returns to action on Wednesday against Grand Canyon at 5 PM at the Neal Blaisdell Center.
