Taiyande Huskey and
Paris Gravely each scored 20 points as the Hawai'i Pacific women's basketball team finished off the sweep of the Bay Area road trip with a 94-57 win over Notre Dame de Namur.
HPU led from wire to wire in this one, the Sea Warriors scored the first three baskets of the game and never looked back. By the 11:25 mark of the first half, HPU led by 10 after a Gravely three-point hit. Huskey's three-pointer in the waning seconds of the first half gave HPU a 20 point advantage. HPU was unchallenged in the second half and built a 37 point lead, the games largest.
Huskey also led the team with seven assists, seven steals and she pulled down five rebounds. Mana Hopkins had another double double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Melody Ladrido had 16 points off the bench.
Kathryn Tolbert was the main threat in the post with 12 points on 8-8 shooting from the line.
HPU was again lethal from deep going 14-23 (61%). Gravely hit five as Huskey made four. Overall, HPU shot 52% (32-62) as NDNU shot just 32% (16-50). The Sea Warrior defense forced 11 more turnovers than they committed.
HPU returns to Hawai'i for its final two games of the season, starting with a trip to UH-Hilo on March 1st at 5 PM.
