San Diego, CA (March 9, 2010)- The Hawai'i Pacific (5-1) Men's Tennis Team suffered their first loss of the season, losing a tightly contested match against number two West Florida (8-1) 5-4.
The Sea Warriors fell behind early dropping two of their three double matches. Jaume Martinez and
Max Hertl kept HPU in it winning the third doubles match 8-5.
The Sea Warriors put up a valiant effort in singles action winning in first and second singles, but couldn't pull off the much needed third victory. Number eight
Petr Michnev defeated number 13 Kevin Ducros in straight sets while Martinez defeated the fifth ranked player in the country 6-4, 1-6, 6-4.
The Sea Warriors now head to Las Vegas to play twelfth ranked Fresno Pacific. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM.
