AUSTIN, TX (April 6, 2013) - The No. 5 Hawai'i Pacific Men's Tennis Team (15-3) improved to 2-1 on its Austin road trip, sweeping  No. 25 St. Edwards (6-10), 9-0, on its home courts. The victory is HPU's fifth over a ranked opponent on the season.

The Sea Warriors dominate play showed early as the swept the Hilltoppers in doubles play. At first doubles, the pair of Jaume Martinez Vich and Petr Michnev won their match 8-3 while Max Hertl and Maxime Halflants coasted in third singles 8-2.

HPU kept the heat on in singles play as not one Sea Warrior dropped a single set.

The feature match of the day was No.2 Michnev who faced No. 50 James Rogers with Michnev winning 6-1, 6-2. The closest match of the day came at second singles as No. 12 Martinez-Vich was pushed to a tie break in the second set, but emerged victorious. Clemens Graute and Adrian Locorotondo each won their matches while only dropping one game for HPU.

The final match of the Austin road trip for HPU is tomorrow against Incarnate Word at 12:00 PM CST.
