Box Score FRESNO, CA (January 23, 2014) – There is something about Fresno. In each of the last two seasons, despite being heavily favored, the Hawai'i Pacific Women's Team (11-5, 7-3) has lost at Fresno Pacific (5-11, 5-5). Tonight, HPU fell 67-63.   

A collapse late in the first half likely cost HPU the game. With HPU up a point, the Sunbirds hit a three-pointer to take the lead with 1:18 to play in the first half. A turnover and a steal 18 seconds later led to a FPU layup that put HPU down by four. After a pair of missed shots on the Sea Warrior offensive side, FPU drilled another three-pointer to take a seven-point advantage to the break.

Skye Savini led HPU with 15 points and seven rebounds. Veanne Navarro and Ieva Nagy each added 11.  

The Sea Warriors now head Oakland to play Holy Names on Saturday.
