Box Score TURLOCK, CA (April 5, 2014)—The Hawai`i Pacific Softball Team (15-19) dropped its second game of the day, falling just short of a comeback against Cal State San Bernardino (23-17) by the score of 5-4.
CSUSB kicked off the scoring with a run in the third inning and two more in the fifth. HPU answered with two runs in the bottom of the fifth
The Coyotes answered with two more runs in the top of the sixth to make the score 5-2 that stood until the seventh inning.
In the bottom of the seventh,
Kristen Caskey added a two-RBI hit to make the score 5-4. Doran Acierto eventually advanced to third base in the inning, but would be stranded as the Coyotes earned the 5-4 win.
Caskey spread nine hits over seven innings while allowing five runs in the loss.
Toni Baysa picked up two hits in the game while Caskey and Elderts each picked up RBI's.
The Sea Warriors will await their draw into the Championship round.
