Box Score STANISLAUS, CA (April 5, 2014)-- The Hawai`i Pacific Softball Team (15-20) dropped the opening game of the bracket round to Chico State (20-17) by the score of 8-0.
 
The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead, scoring a par of runs in the first inning, but HPU starter Chandell Dacosin kept CSU off the board for the next four innings.
 
The 2-0 score held until the sixth when the Chico State offense broke out in a big way, notching six runs to earn the 8-0 victory in six innings.
 
Dacosin allowed 10 hits in 5 1/3 innings in defeat. Keila Elderts reached base twice in the game with a walk and a hit.
 
The Sea Warriors will return to Oahu for a two game series against BYU-Hawaii on Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Howard A. Okita Field.
