Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WAIPAHU, HI (February 28, 2015) – The Hawai'i Pacific Baseball Team (7-2, 4-0) backed up Friday's doubleheader sweep with two more wins on Saturday against sixth ranked Fresno Pacific (9-6, 0-4). The Sharks claimed game one 5-4 in walk-off fashion and game two 3-2.

Just like the first two games of the series, HPU grabbed an early lead. HPU sparkplug Jordan Oshiro walked to lead off the game; he stole second base and later scored on a sac fly from Derek Nakasato. Nolan Barraza then restarted the rally with a triple and scored on a single from Chad Bolibol to put HPU up 2-0 after one inning.

FPU tied the game by the third after a sacrifice fly and a solo homerun. The tie didn't last long as Codey Ellenwood gave HPU a 3-2 lead with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third.

Both offenses then went dormant until late in the game. FPU scored two runs in the eighth inning to claim its first lead of the series.

Down to its last at-bat, HPU railed. Oshiro led off with a single and again stole second and later scored the tying run on another sacrifice from Nakasato. Barazza got hit by a pitch and then moved to second on a single from Bolibol. Ellenwood then won the game with a single to left center.

Starter Brandon Van Stone gave up three earned runs in seven and a third innings, but did not receive a decision. Reliever Jordan Deponte gave up one hit in an inning and two-thirds to get the win.

Bolibol had a three hit game, including a triple and an RBI.

Game two saw FPU turn the tables and take a 1-0 in the first inning.

Nakasato tied the game up in the third when he drove in Reid Akau with a RBI hit. The Sharks got their first lead of the game in the fifth when Oshiro doubled in Steven Camberos.

Poor HPU defense led to a run in the sixth inning for FPU to retie the score at two. However, the Sun Birds gave it right back in the bottom of the sixth when Tre Haliburton-Goes scored the winning run on a wild pitch.

Started Harley Holt evened his record at 1-1 after throwing six innings while giving up just one earned run and striking out nine. Deponte came in and slammed the door in the seventh inning for his second save of the season.

HPU returns to the diamond for a four-game set against Holy Names beginning on Wednesday (March 4th). First pitch at Hans L'Orange Park is set for 4:00 pm.
