Box Score 2 WAIPAHU, HI (April 25, 2015) – The Hawai'i Pacific Baseball Team (25-20, 15-15) took on the Urban Knights of Academy of Art (7-33, 4-22) in a PacWest doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Hans L'Orange Park. The Sharks took both games (11-2 and 12-0) and are back at the .500 mark in conference play.
In game one, Shark ace
Rico Garcia took the ball and once again dominated the opposing lineup. Garcia took a no-hitter into the fifth inning before surrendering the first hit. Garcia (6-4) most likely ended his season with an eight-inning shutout, allowing just three hits with six strikeouts.
Meanwhile, the offense kept rolling. After being blanked in the first inning, the Sharks scored at least one run in the next six. By the end of the seventh, HPU led by the score of 11-0.
Senior
Jordan Oshiro had a great game, going 4-5 at the dish with an RBI and three runs scored.
Nolan Barraza also put together a strong showing going 2-4 while driving in four runs.
In game two, it was again the combination of solid hitting and dominant pitching.Â
After being shut out in the first inning again, the Sharks ran off another five innings of scoring, topped off by a five-run fifth inning.
Oshiro once again put together a solid game, going 2-6 and while driving home three.
Steven Camberos led the offense going 3-4 with three runs and four RBI.
Senior
Harley Holt (5-4) earned the win in what will most likely be his last collegiate appearance. Holt went seven strong innings, allowing just two hits and punched out five Urban Knights.
Tomorrow is senior day for the Sharks, game one starts at noon at Hans L'Orange Park. The senior ceremony will begin immediately after the end of game two.
