Personal: Born in Honolulu, HI…parents are Eddie and Gezlyn Garcia…has one brother, Eddie…nickname is Rico Suave...enjoys listening to music and spending time with his family…favorite movies are The Fast and Furious franchise, You Got Served, and Drumline…favorite musical artists are Lavengers x, Drake, J Boog and Kid Ink…favorite athletes are Michael Jordan, Roberto Clemente and Ray Lewis...in ten years he wants to still be playing baseball or coaching…chose HPU because he wanted to play baseball close to home in paradise…majoring in Advertising/ Public Relations.

Prior to HPU: Graduate of Saint Louis School in Honolulu where he played pitcher and third base…earned Second Team All-ILH honors as a pitcher his junior year and both Second Team All-ILH Pitcher and Second Team All-State Utility accolades after his senior year.

HPU: 2016: Made 12 starts with a record of 6-5 and a 3.39 ERA...Pitched 77 innings and struck out 59 batters...recorded one complete game and the best walk:strikeout ratio 2015: Made 10 starts on the year with a record of 6-4 and a 2.18 ERA... Pitched 74.1 innings with 87 strikeouts, four complete games, and one shutout...Played summer baseball in the Northwoods League with the Kenosha Kingfish in Wisconsin and posted a 3.67 ERA...pitched 54 innings with 53 strikeouts...helped Kenosha win the league championship and the squad was ranked first in the nation amongst summer baseball squads in 2015...named First Team All-PacWest and was also selected as HPU's Male Athlete of the Year. 2014: As a sophomore, Garcia was named team MVP...he made 11 starts and led the team in innings pitched (84), wins (4) and games started...set two school records, most strikeouts in a single season (74) and most strikeouts in a single game (16) against Holy Names University on March 30...was fourth in the PacWest in ERA (2.68)...selected to Second Team All-PacWest 2013: Appeared in 12 games, all starts…posted a 4.15 ERA while leading the team in innings pitched with 78...also led the team in complete games (5) and shutouts (3)… was second on the team with 56 strikeouts while walking just 17…went all nine innings in a three-hit shutout victory on April 26 at Fresno Pacific.
