Breanna Mackenzie racked up 16 points and a season-high 14 rebounds, while
Cece Pearl poured in 18 points to buoy the Hawaii Pacific women's basketball team's win over UH Hilo, 58-47, in PacWest Conference action at Moanalua High School.
The Sharks (16-9 overall, 13-5 PacWest) dominated the glass and out-rebounded the Vulcans 55-31.
Aminata Cole just missed out on a double-double effort as the junior corralled 13 rebounds, blocked three shots and scored eight points. Reigning PacWest Freshman of the Week
Janessa Manzano also made an impact via eight points, seven rebounds and a team-high three assists.
Mackenzie, a sophomore from Australia, has paced the Sharks offensively as of late, scoring 296 points over her last 15 games. She is scoring 18 points per game on the season and also averages 6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.8 steals per contest.
The Vulcans (9-14, 9-9) received 18 points from Lauren Hong.
HPU, which finished a program-best 25-5 last season and made it to the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, returns to Moanalua High School for a tilt against Point Loma on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 4:30 p.m.
