Box Score SAN DIEGO, Calif. (February 6, 2016) – The Hawaii Pacific women's basketball team was outscored 28-5 to end the first half and eventually fell 64-48 to Point Loma Nazarene University in a PacWest Conference showdown.
The Sharks (13-9 overall, 10-5 PacWest) received a 12 points from
Breanna Mackenzie, who struggled on offense, making four-of-19 shots from the field and two-of-10 from behind the 3-point arc.
Jessi Reeves chipped in 10 points and pulled down six rebounds, while
Aminata Cole corralled a team-best 11 rebounds.
Mackenzie, a sophomore from Australia, has buoyed the Sharks offensively as of late, scoring 234 points over her last 12 games. She is scoring 17.6 points per game on the season and also averages 5.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.7 steals per contest.
The Sea Lions (16-5, 9-4) won their eighth consecutive game and were led by Madison West (18 points) and Alex Brunk (13 points and 12 rebounds).
HPU, which finished a program-best 25-5 last season and made it to the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, continues its five-game away stretch with a tilt against local rival Chaminade on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 5 p.m.
