Box Score 2 KANEOHE, Hawaii (March 1, 2016) – The Hawaii Pacific softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to visiting Notre Dame de Namur University, 3-0 and 6-3, in a PacWest Conference clash at Howard A. Okita Field.
The Sharks (3-7, 0-2 PacWest) received two hits apiece from
Kayla Sanchez and
Paige Crawford in the second game, while teammates
Kiana Wolfe and
Britney Stevens combined to drive in all three HPU runs. The home team committed six errors on the day, however, which led to four unearned runs that spurred NDNU's pair of wins.
The Argonauts (3-8, 2-4) claimed the opener after taking advantage of four HPU miscues. NDNU pitcher Shelby Reali (2-6) notched the shutout, striking out five and scattering three hits.

Kristen Caskey (2-3) took the hard-luck loss in the first game after going seven innings and surrendering three unearned runs, while striking out four.
In the return matchup, Crawford (1-3) took the loss in the pitcher's circle, surrendering 5 earned runs on 8 hits in the complete-game effort. Argonauts pitcher Erin Powers (1-2) notched the win despite not striking out a batter; she scattered 7 hits and stranded five HPU runners. NDNU was spurred by a four-run sixth inning to break what was a 2-2 tie.
The Sharks return to action on Thursday, March 3, for a non-conference doubleheader against Rollins College (Fla.) at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at Howard A. Okita Field.
