Box Score 2 KANEOHE, Hawaii (March 19, 2016) – The Hawaii Pacific softball team split a doubleheader split with BYU-Hawaii, losing 5-4 then claiming the return matchup 7-0, in PacWest Conference action at Howard A. Okita Field.
Dominique Walker, a freshman catcher and designated player, continued her hot streak at the plate, and crushed a 2-run homer to center in the third inning of the second game to put the Sharks in front. Walker has now hit safely in 12 of her last 13 games and leads the team with a .361 batting average.

Paige Crawford (4-6) notched the shutout in the finale after scattering 5 hits.
The Sharks (11-17, 7-9 PacWest) could not overcome BYU-Hawaii's four-run 6
th inning in the opener despite receiving home runs from
Kayla Sanchez and
Noelani Boyer. Walker and Boyer led the Sharks at the dish after combining for 3 hits apiece over the two games, while Sanchez collected 3 RBI on the day.
HPU starter
Kristen Caskey did not factor in the decision after allowing a lone run on one hit through 4 2/3 innings. Reliever
Alexa McCoin (0-4) took the loss in the opener after surrendering 4 runs on 7 hits.
The Seasiders (9-19, 5-13) received 2 RBI from Tiffany Smith in the opener, while pitcher Chelsie Childs Lambert (5-3) notched the complete-game victory. Meghan Wantz (3-12) took the loss for BYU-Hawaii in the return matchup.
