SURPRISE, Ariz. (April 14, 2016) – The top-ranked Hawaii Pacific men's tennis team swept Sonoma State 5-0 in the quarterfinal round of the PacWest Conference Championships at Surprise Tennis & Racquet Center. With the victory, the Sharks improved to 15-3 on the season.
 
HPU's top-ranked doubles tandem of Thibaud Berland and Alexander Meyer defeated the team of Blaine Mengert and Logan Liddell, 8-2. The No. 1 duo is now 16-2 this season. The Sharks team of Jaume Martinez-Vich and Filip Dolezel was also victorious, as was the tandem of Jakub Hadrava and Torben Otto.
 
Dolezel, the 20^th-ranked singles player, compiled a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Liddell. Clemens Graute dominated Kevin To 6-0, 6-0 as the Sharks clinched the victory with four matches unfinished.
 
The Sharks advance to face the BYU-Hawaii/Holy Names winner in the semifinals on Friday 1:30 p.m.
