HONOLULU – Both the Hawai'i Pacific University men's and women's tennis teams have been selected to play in the 2017 NCAA Division II Tennis Championships.
The Sharks men (16-4) are the top seed in the West Region and earn a direct berth to the Sweet 16 at the NCAA Championships at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla., a suburb of Orlando.
The Sharks women (13-5) were selected as the number two seed in the West Region and will host third seeded Academy of Art in an NCAA Regional Match to advance to Altamonte Springs.
The other West Region teams selected are women's top seed BYU-Hawaii who gets a direct berth to the National Championship site, and men's second seed UC San Diego who will host third seed Azusa Pacific in a Regional for the right to advance.
Final details to include the dates and times of the regional matches will be announced by the NCAA on Wednesday.
