IRVINE, Calif. – Hawai'i Pacific University's Pranisa "Mint" Chimsuti made history today when she became the first HPU women's golfer selected to the All-PacWest Conference Team.
Chimsuti, a sophomore from Pathumtani, Thailand, was voted to 2017 All-PacWest Conference Third Team by the league's head coaches.
Chimsuti finished second individually at the 2017 PacWest Conference Championships at 13-over-par 229 as she led the Sharks to a fourth place team finish. Both were the best finishes at the conference championship in school history.
For the season, Chimsuti led the team with an 80.73 average, with her two rounds of 76 at the PacWest Championships the best of the season. She finished second twice in the seven tournaments she played in this season.
Academy of Art junior Sterling Hawkins was chosen the PacWest Golfer of the Year, with California Baptist's Samantha Martirez voted the Freshman of the Year and Cal Baptist coach Mark Machado selected the Coach of the Year.
