Amy Baum has been selected again as the PacWest Conference Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week for her outstanding play last week for the Sharks.
The 5-7 freshman from Melbourne, Australia/Rowville Secondary was chosen the PacWest Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week for a third time this season. Baum averaged 12.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.0 steals with two blocks as the Sharks won two of three games last week. She posted 18 points with six rebounds and five assists in a win at Fresno Pacific, 10 points and six assists in a triumph at Academy of Art, and tallied eight points, seven rebounds and four assists in a loss a Dominican.
For the season, Baum leads the PacWest averaging 5.2 assists per game, is 10th in the league with 1.8 steals a game, and. Is 18th with 6.4 rebounds while scoring 8.8 points a contest.
Joining Baum with this week's conference honors are Dominican's Natalie Diaz as PacWest Player of the Week and Point Loma's Grace Brady as Defender of the Week.
The Sharks (8-5, 6-1) have one game this week as they visit the Big Island Saturday for a PacWest Hawai'i Challenge contest against Hawai'i Hilo. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.
