HONOLULU – Hawai'i Pacific University took the top four positions on the way to a 306-309 victory over Chaminade in the second dual match of the season on Monday at the Hawai'i Kai Golf Course.
The Sharks didn't count the top two finishers. Sophomores
Ray Kim of Aiea, Hawai'i/Moanalua and
Joseph Pigatti of Santa Barbara, Calif./Dos Pueblos both fired 1-over-par 73 on the par 72, 6,500 yard course to tie for first – but both played as individuals and were not involved in the team scoring.
Junior
Ryan Torres of San Jose, Calif./Evergreen Valley finished third with a 2-over 74 to lead the Sharks team. Freshman
Blake Mullen of Overland Park, Kan./Olathe East shot a 3-over 75 to tie for fourth the Swords Jeren Nishimoto and Schuyler Peterson.
Freshman
Dylan Smith of San Tan Valley, Ariz., posted a 5-over 77 also playing as an individual. The Sharks completed their team score with sophomore Keli'i Kamelamela-Dudoit of Ho'olehua, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Kapalama tied for ninth with a 6-over 78 and senior
Minsu Lee of San Jose, Calif./Willow Glen 11th at 7-over 79. Sophomore
Sirasit Prateepmongkol of Bangkok, Thailand/Ruamrudee International carded an 82 as the final Shark.
The Sharks and Silverswords complete their fall seasons at the end of October in Hawai'i Hilo's Dennis Rose Invitational Oct. 28-30 at the Waikoloa Resort's Kings Course on the Big Island.
