WAIKOLOA, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Pacific University stayed the same in the second round of the 2019 Dennis Rose Women's Invitational at the Beach Course at the Waikolo Resort on Monday.
HPU posted a team score of 353 for a two round total of 702 to remain in 10th in the 10 team tournament. Saint Martin's is at 638 in ninth after a 315 on Tuesday.
Junior
Hannah Brown of San Tan Valley, Ariz./Combs, continued to lead the Sharks individually. She toured the par 70, 6002-yard Beach course in 8-over-par 78 for a 154.
Sophomore
Kaley Saludares of Hilo, Hawai'i/Waiakea, improved to an 81 for a 166 total after 36 holes. Freshman
Victoria McQuay of Virginia Beach, Va./Green Run added a 95 for a 191 and is tied with junior
Kassidy Dunn of Berlin, Pa./Berlin Borthersvalley who shot a 98 to sit at 191. Freshman
Avery Weil of Colorado Springs, Colo./Maclaren recorded her second 98 of the tournament for a 196.
Concordia Portland posted the best round of the tournament with a 291 on Tuesday to take the team lead after two rounds at 595. Somona State had a 297 and dropped six strokes behind to second at 601. Western Washington put up a 301 for a 604 to sit third.
Individually, Concordia Portland's Cammie Decker fired one of three 2-under 68s on the day to move into the lead at 2-under 141. Cal State Monterey Bay's Isabel Carpenter, playing as an individual, also shot a 68 to sit in second at 4-over 144, and Western New Mexico's Brenda Dominguez carded a 68 to stand third at 5-over 145.
The final round is set for Wednesday on the Beach Course. The Sharks start off at 7 a.m. with the first five tee groups, playing with Saint Martin's and the tournament's individual players.
