Kirah Boynton-Brown has been voted to the 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District® 8 Division II Volleyball Team.
The Academic All-District® Volleyball Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Boynton-Brown, a 6-2 sophomore from Vancouver, Wash./Union, carries a 3.95 grade point average in Biology. She leads the Sharks with 79 blocks on the season, 0.87 per set, that ranks eighth in the PacWest Conference. "KBB" now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot, with Academic All-America® honorees to be announced in early December. The Division II CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Divisions II Academic All-America® programs.
The Sharks play on Thursday at Concordia Irvine in a 5 p.m. HST (7 p.m. PST) match, then go to league-leading Azusa Pacific on Saturday at 11 a.m. (1 p.m. PST) to wrap up their southern California road trip.
