Sharks Women Stay Fourth In Oracle/ITA Division II Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Hawai'i Pacific University women's tennis team retained their No. 4 ranking in the first regular season Oracle/ITA Division II Women's Tennis Rankings administered by Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
 
The Sharks sport a 3-0 record to open the season, with two other matches rained out.
 
Barry (Fla.) kept its top position as the top three spots all belong to Florida schools. Lynn moved up to second from fifth and Saint Leo climbed to third from seventh with HPU fourth and PacWest foe Academy of Art moved to fifth from sixth.
 
Columbus State (Ga.) is sixth, with Nova Southeastern (Fla.) seventh, West Flordia eighth, Florida Southern ninth and Indianapolis (Ind.) 10th.
 
The PacWest's Azusa Pacific is 12th and Point Loma 20th, with the West region's UC San Diego 22nd.
 
The Sharks are idle until March 6 when they face No. 5 Academy of Art in LaJolla, Calif., as part of a huge weekend of women's tennis. HPU faces No. 1 Barry on March 7 and No. 22 UC San Diego.  All three matches are at UCSD's Northview Tennis Center.
