IRVINE, Calif. – Hawai'i Pacific University hurler
Jordan Curry was selected the PacWest Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance last week against Dominican.
Curry, a 6-0 senior from Farmington, N.M./Farmington, struck out 10 Penguins in two games, with a shutout and a combined shutout in the wins. She allowed just four hits in nine innings against DUC.
Curry is 14-6 on the season with 15 complete games, with four shutouts and one combined shutout. She leads the PacWest with 125.2 innings pitched and has 65 strikeouts with an ERA of 2.28.
This is Curry's second Pitcher of the Week award this season to go with a Player of the Week award.
Joining Curry with PacWest weekly honors are Hawai'i Hilo's Isabelle Mejia as Player of the Week and Holy Name's Aly Cerda as Freshman of the Week.
The Sharks travel to the mainland this weekend to play in the Turlock Tournament of Champions. HPU opens the tournament on Friday against Concordia Portland at 6 a.m. HST (9 a.m. PDT).
